KDE from Mint repositories
Can I install KDE from my Mint 12 repositories so that I can use it as my window manger instead of Mate or Cinnamon. If so will it be the same as doing a straight Mint KDE installation.

Yes and sorta.... it will be the same but not themed up to Look Like Mint12 and might have a different selection of applications.... like Kubuntu
