Linux Mint and Epson printer

I copied this from over at OSGUI (It was my tutorial anyway), the video is probably a little rubbish anyway ....

My Printer is an Epson Stylus SX515W

First you will need to download the driver for it. Which you can find here: http://avasys.jp/eng/linux_driver/

Secondly, you need to open printing from the menu: System > Administration > Printing


If your printer is shown already you can ignore the rest of this tutorial.

If the printer is not shown click "Add"

Drop down the menu for "Network Printer"
Choose "Find Network Printer" and type in the IP address of the printer unless it is shown and in which case highlight the printer from the list and continue.



Click forward and forward through the menus and print a test page and it should work.


P.S: I have no idea why I hid my internal IP address.

Don't be too harsh on yourself mate, this would be a pretty common issue I would imagine and it's great you took the time to try and make something that helps others.

You know my favourite exercise with configuring printers in Linux is hitting the Print Test Page for the first time and watching as the printer goes nuts and proceeds to spit out every piece of paper in it's tray until you unplug the power

It happens to me more often than you'd think lol.
