Ident Server

Heya folks,

I was wondering if somebody could perhaps help me install an ident server on either Ubuntu or Arch.
Ive google'd a few stuff, which seemed a bit dated back to 2005 , but I suppose sometimes that's how far back IRC goes for some of us, and ofcource none of which i could get running or configured.
The reason for this only being that when I connect to an IRC server, I just want the naggy message to go away, and a feature to actually set my own Ident and rid myself of the devilish "~".

Hehe. Its quite ok. Its not something urgent, just more for aesthetic purposes.
Havnt really had any luck , aside from the usual errors and services throwing errors and refusing to start....

Im still at the mercy of a "power user" haha.
