Why I advocate CrunchBang Linux.
For starters, Crunchbang Linux is build on Debian stable. Waldorf, their latest release, is based on Debian Wheezy.
Every single review I've seen on Debian Wheezy seems to complaing about the older desktops. They don't like an older
desktop. Even Kaddy spoke of upgrading his desktop to XFCE 4.10 via testing just to get away from it.
WELL!!! Crunchbang linux uses openbox and has a clean, very stable, mostly unchanged interface. You set up your bells and
whistles. in fact, open box is faster than XFCE 4.10 in every review you care to see. I prefer openbox over XFCE for this reason.
You never get tired of it and you don't feel screwed because you have last years version....
What a Debian user wants is to have use of all those high quality, bug free, extremely fast, applications.
Debian users use Debian because of it's BASE... And you get that plus you get a little more with CrunchBang as it's an enhancement
to Debian Stable.
Further, CrunchBang linux is set up in SINGLE USER MODE by default. So, the single user is the major emphasis when it comes to the threads.
So, it's very damn fast Debian.
And that's why I advocate it. I don't hate Debian obviously. But, I hear the constant complaints from every reviewer about Debian stable desktops being
too old and I say, so what. Just run openbox and Crunchbang.
And it's worth it...
