Re: Welcome Everybody!!!
Hey, just to quickly ask and I guess this is as good as anywhere, is there a "New Posts" function coming? If it's not already there and I'm just not seeing it Lol.
You know, you click and it shows all the new posts in order of submission etc etc.
But great idea and forum, I reckon it will grow nicely.

Re: Welcome Everybody!!!
Hi Everyone
I have a suggestion, that is not major but I would prefer if the forums were not in a frame (so I do not have two scroll bars). If you are using a CMS like Joomla it should be easy enough to change?

Re: Welcome Everybody!!!
You have 2 scroll bars???
I only have the 1 on the right..........
I've already started looking in to making my website "touch the sides" so to speak.... but it seems that Most similar websites are like this... but most people make the background colour the same so that it blends in well.........
although i notice that "thisweekinlinux" forum is stretched out.... I will have to look further into this........
I am using Yola where everything is built in...... but I will look into it anyways. thanx
alternatively you could visit the forum here https://linux4unme.forumotion.com/
it seems to be fullscreen. I'll see what I can do though

Re: Welcome Everybody!!!
I have two scroll bars when firefox is full screen.
One scroll bar on the far right of the screen (vertically) and another vertical scroll bar within the frame of the forum. I would prefer to only have the scroll bar on the far right (not in the frame)

Re: Welcome Everybody!!!
Is that really a bug though or just the way it displays embedded on the website?
For what it's worth I just use this forum directly, i.e linux4unme.forumotion.com and all is hunky dory.

There are a lot of things to worry about in life but scroll bars doesn't even make the top 100 of that list.kaddy wrote:I now know what your on about..... it's a slight annoyance i guess.....

good spot for an intro?
Hey all. I thought this might be a good spot for an introduce yourself post. So call me Alan.
I mostly use my PC for gaming and a small amount of video and music creation. Hobbyist stuff. So naturally I'm hoping to add a little to the gaming section.

Introduction
Greetings everyone and to those of you down under, 'Hello Mates!" I am a newbie to Linux...taking time to learn it before Microsoft releases the mess of a GUI called 'Metro' in Windows 8! Kaddy, I enjoy your videos and decided to join the forums here where maybe I can learn something from those of you that have much more experience with Linux. I've tried a number of distros and am currently using Ubuntu 11.10 which I have modified using Cairo Dock (with the Unity panel hidden). One thing I love about Linux is that if I'm not satisfied with the desktop environment I can modify it or find another one to use. Anyway, look forward to participating in the forums.

Yeah, it's been pretty slow. It seems like Tim has to go on all emotional before the message board picks up. Personally, I think it'd be nice if we got this buggy back on the tracks.

Should I start to go in emotional escapades on the forums to get you guys to post more often? bahahahhahaha.
Welcome RazorbackGuy !!
arghhhh the W8 Metro gui..... with the multi billions M$soft have invested it blows my mind as to why they cannot innovate... then again, it is going to be entertaining if Windows 8 is the new Vista But I guess you can always fallback to the classic Windows Shell like in 7
Ubuntu 11.10 eh? cool... yeah Cairo dock is pretty darn good... I was messing around with it a couple weeks ago...
Hey RazorbackGuy, You should take the next Linux Mint 12 for a spin in a few weeks time! It is sure to blow Ubuntu out of the water! Big time
http://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=1851
Anyways.... Thanx for joining the forums! I am currently trying to get more and more people to join and post so we can have a much more interactive community
I am even thinking about re designing the website in the near future and maybe creating a much better Forum... I may need some help/suggestions but it will get there!
cheers!
ps. Dallas Texas eh? niceee. Say G'dayyyyyyy to Alex Jones for me. haha

Re: Welcome Everybody!!!
Wow, Mint 12 really is looking nice. I've never been a fan of the Mint Menu though. Looks like they are doing some cool stuff with Gnome3, and giving it the traditional Mint look like they do so well.
