Anyone tried Fedora 15 yet? I gave it a shot today. I still find Gnome 3 too confusing to use, but am glad to see Libre office included. Anybody else gave it a shot? I tried out Puppy Linux today too, I must say I liked it a lot better, but is for a more minimalist taste. Any opinions?

Havent tried Fedora 15 yet but I may. Although I'm already running Gnome-Shell so I dont know what else I'll really find to play with.

I like Puppy but I mostly prefer it for old computers or sometimes I even use it as a system rescue disk, or use it to partition drives etc, because its fast and has so much included at the same time.

Yeah I been Playing with Fedora 15 all day.... Just did a Review and will be uploading shortly.....

Fedora 15 is ok... I can see how it wouldn't suit newbies or people who want a out of the box hand holding experience... But I like Fedora.
Only Gripe I have with it is that the installer really needs a revamp.... As for the latest Puppy... havn't tried it yet......

Be sure to check out the Fedora 15 review Wink

cheers Smile

Thanks for the welcome. I've been lurking for awhile, so I decided to register. So far, as I mentioned in my previous post, I'm really enjoying it. It's only been for a couple of days, but it's been pretty stable. I'm currently using the 32 bit version, even though I have a 64 bit processor. I usually opt for the true 64 bit install over a 32 bit PAE enabled kernel.

I decided to try 32 bit first just because I've never used Fedora before and I've always heard stories about Fedora being unstable (due to it being a "bleeding edge" distro). Later this evening or this weekend I'll throw on the regular 64 bit release and see how that goes on my system.

I don't know if I'll stick with KDE though. I played with the Fedora 15 Gnome live CD and I don't think Gnome 3 is really that horrible. With some tweaks and maybe the right theme, I think Gnome 3 might be pretty nice. Granted I've only spent a few hours with it, but there was no major bugs or show stoppers.

Aint that the truth; I like Gnome-Shell but it really hates screencasting and editing.

And yes, welcome almigi!
