Not sure how to solve your problem, but I will say this: the open source drivers Fedora should have installed out of the box work just as good, in some instances, better, than the Catalyst driver. i usually don't bother installing it at all these days.

hi

I found a post on the fedora forums with the same problem as you (it seems) Which has been solved

http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=263590

it's a new thread from today so I assume it will go more into detail.... but the guy seems to of fixed his gnome 3 / ati issue....

Otherwise... maybe this will be of use to you.... (i assume... no idea about ati myself)
