Hey if you have'nt updated your wine to 1.3.14, do so it has some nice features to help get your windows games up and running

Actually don't update if you've done any tweaking to get stuff working, otherwise you might have to either downgrade or find new tweaks to work with the new wine. Unless of course everything works fine with the new wine.

Dunno on the settings, I'm on Arch and have been upgrading Wine since 1.3.6, seems to work very nicely and I must say 1.3.14 is indeed nice, it makes Left4Dead 2 run much better for me
EDIT: Oh, for certain games which need special settings or .dll overrides, I just use PlayonLinux to manage them, since it keeps every application in it's own wine prefix and can't muck up/clash settings etc.
